FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I be able to use the washroom during the OSCE?
A: Yes, under dire circumstances, candidates are permitted to use the washroom. They will be accompanied by staff to and from.
Q: What if I get disconnected during the exam?
A: Do not panic! All of your progress up to the point of the disconnection has been saved and you will be entitled to their entire allotted testing time. The remote proctoring team is standing by to get you back into the exam and testing again as soon as the connection is regained. In order to reconnect to the exam, simply follow the procedure as outlined for your initial exam registration.
Should you experience a lengthy disconnection, greater than 30 minutes, such as may be possible with a sustained power outage, you may wish to email your regulator when they are able to, noting the situation and then try to reconnect again with the proctors.
Q: Will I be able to take notes during the exam?
A: Yes For the MCQ, candidates are permitted to have one piece of plain 8.5”x11” paper and a pen/pencil during the exam. Should candidates choose to have a piece of note paper, it will be shown to the proctor as part of the security check and will again be shown to the proctor at the end of the exam. The proctor will then observe the candidate destroying the paper at the end of the exam.
For the OSCE, candidates will be supplied with a booklet and pencil for note taking.
Q: Will I be able to use the washroom during the MCQ?
A: No, candidates are not permitted to take bathroom breaks during the MCQ unless specifically permitted by a pre-approved examination accommodation.
Q: Will I be able to see my online proctor while they are observing me?
A: No, candidates will only be able to view their examination. You can only speak to your remote proctor.
