Opportunities to Give Back

Standard Setting

Exam cut or pass scores, are determined using high-stakes assessment best practice methodologies under the guidance of psychometric experts. This process relies on volunteer contributions from practicing denturists from across the country.

Cut scores are set for each MCQ administration taking into account the relative difficulty of the particular selection of test items. The activity is done without the denturists knowing anything about any candidate information or test answers. There are no pre-determined pass rates. It is possible for all candidates to be successful on any given administration.

If you are a registered and practicing member of the profession and would like to become involved in the cut-score setting process, or have any questions about it, please contact us.
